Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases a stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies depending on its rarity and.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or increasing an item's rarity or mark level. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which could increase their stats.
Upgradeable items can be found throughout the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The primary method to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots for upgrading, and many require a specific level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others give a general bonus.
There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any kind of equipment and offer lower bonuses than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools and offer numerous bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected statistics after the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either, the Upgrade button will say Blocked.
The number of upgrade components required for a specific item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the rarity and level of the item increase. However you can lower the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a seller, or trading them with other players.
Almost all weapons can be upgraded by the use of a prefix upgrade like an insignia or rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with a suffix upgrade. These upgrades include an adjective in the item's name like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to communicate visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph has a set of values it can increase a stat's value according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This isn't the actual amount by which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum amount it is able to do so. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are admiring.
The majority of upgrade components installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.
If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to salvage it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, so this should not be considered a loss.
The addition of a glyph to an item can cause it to be unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also apply the glyph on your equipment to provide a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is beneficial for players who suffer a lot damage from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from many sources, including mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with a random affix that is usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the upgrade menu, but they still qualify to receive upgrades. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle the recycled items. This will alter the layout of the item's window and let up to six items be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is based on the item's rarity as well as its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls will determine the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.
A reroll is a good option for upgrading an item, however, players should be aware that it could reduce the overall ilvl the weapon by the number of rerolls used to raise the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective with Diadems and rings that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.
Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to allow people to pay for it using money or food items which will allow players to make changes to their builds without having to invest excessive amounts of time. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this stage of the game's development. Instead, they plan to include a race change potion in the near future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount, which increases the value of an upgrade for any stat. The second option is to boost the effect of an upgrade, which boosts the damage or healing of the stat. Finally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel, but will be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
It is important to remember that upgrades can be random. In upgrade item of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are instances where a higher or more special roll may occur. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a specific kind of item, it is likely to receiving an upper level.
Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to legendary. The price will depend on the item's iLevel base and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item will reach the maximum level on its upgrade track and gain an additional effect. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased a value of +3.
The iLevel can also change depending on the item's upgrade path and base level. For example, an item that is upgraded from being a scarce or unique item to an outstanding one can be expected to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
